Teal and Terracotta

A few weeks ago I went to Brisbane to have dinner with Claudia. It’s not often that I have the opportunity to get dressed up for dinner (ahem, Mr Right, where the heck are you), so when the chance presents itself I have a lot of fun putting an outfit together.

I have loved super loose/culotte/yoga/lounge style pants since I was about 14. I remember a friend of mine had a white cotton pair that I initially mistook as a skirt, and I was envious. Now that such pants are becoming trendy again, I’m taking every opportunity I can to ditch my skinny jeans and wear them.

Once I had picked these pants out, there was no stopping me. Like a tornado tearing through my wardrobe I searched for some more jewel tones and heavy gold accessories to accompany the burnt orange of the pants. Aren’t the colours amazing? I also love that these pants reach all the way to the floor, which is flattering, particularly for those of us who haven’t quite reached our full potential in the height department.

I almost felt like I was blending in with the rich dรฉcor of the Lebanese restaurant that we went to. It was the perfect girly date, and afterwards we made our way to Max Brenner’s chocolate bar for dessert, where I promptly proved how elegant I am by sticking my left shirt sleeve in a pot of melted chocolate. #Winning.
