Hello everyone! Can I start by wishing you all a Happy New Year. I hope that 2016 is special in all the right ways for each and every one of you.
At the end of last year I put up a post called “The Concert Series Part 1”. Here is the second instalment. As I mentioned in Part 1, November/December is a crazy period for all dance teachers as we prepare our annual concerts/showcases/demonstrations/soirées. Finding something to wear can be tricky. They are more often than not night-time events and therefore one needs to dress up. It’s not a full scale ballet though, and other attendees will be in everything from jeans to formal dresses, and it’s always a little tricky to hit right in the middle.
Since she first appeared in the media, I have to admit to having a massive girl-crush on Amal Clooney. She is total class from head-to-toe and I covert her wardrobe. When I grow up, I’d like to be exactly like her, and believe me when I say it has not a thing to do with her husband.
My favourite outfit of hers is a cream pant suit that she wore to her civil ceremony in Venice.
I first came across this jumpsuit in Sydney when I was shopping for an outfit to wear to a wedding. It jumped out at me because it reminded me of Amal Clooney’s outfit, only the colours were in reverse. Unfortunately it was out of my price range, so I moved on.
The following week I was telling a very dear friend about it. He turned up with it wrapped as a gift for me the next day.
I’ve been looking for the perfect occasion to wear it ever since. I envisioned wearing it to a garden party, with a huge navy hat, just like the illustrious Mrs Clooney. Considering I’ve never been invited to such an event in my life, I decided a ballet performance was the perfect opportunity to christen it.
