I’ve never given much thought to textures, apart from satin. When I was a little girl I had a yellow t-shirt with two satin fish on the front, one pink and one blue. I was quite often dropped off first to kindergarten, and the fish were a kind of safety blanket. I loved the feel of the satin in my fingers.
When we go shopping we pull clothes off the rack, run our hands over the garments and lift them up to see the movement. I love the way silk slides across bare skin, catches in the air and even the slight grit as you feel when you rub it against bare skin. Some of my other favourites are suede, soft and malleable, and leather, buttery and supple.

This outfit was full of interesting textures, from the stiff little peaks of the accordion pleats, the flexible leather of my t-shirt and the furry suede on the backs of these shoes.
I’m also loving the black, white and tan colour combination at the moment, so look out for future feature posts.
