Roman Holiday

A silk scarf can say one of two things: “I work in a bank” or “Audrey Hepburn on the back of a moped in Roman Holiday”. Obviously, I’m aiming for the latter.

A few years ago now, I was given this scarf by a student, and although I was dying to wear it (I don’t know if you can see but it has elegant ladies in flower dresses all over it) I just had no idea HOW. Knitted scarves are so easy, but wearing a smaller silk one without looking like the newest member of the Pink Ladies from Grease? A little harder.

I think that this sort of scarf needs to treated as one would a statement necklace, shoes, or bag. Rather than finishing off or adding another layer to an outfit as a winter scarf would, I think a scarf this pretty should be the focal point, so I chose a simply dress and kept my other accessories feminine and not too busy.

I hope you all enjoy- it’s fun to be able to try different things!
