Au Revoir, 2016

So here we are, another year older (definitely), another year wiser (hopefully) and on the brink of a brand new chapter.

Personally, I will be pleased to see the back of 2016. They say what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, and although I have tried to apply this philosophy to all the hurdles in my life, I have felt myself reach breaking point multiple times this year. It has been far, far harder than moving away from home at 14- and I didn’t think I would ever face a challenge so monumental again.

The thing that has really pulled me through is having the support of some pretty incredible people at my back. Besides my family and a handful of very special mentors that will forever have a place in my heart are my friends. One of the most important of these, and someone I have leant on at virtually every hurdle, I met because of The Professional Cinderella.

For 2017, I encourage you all to reach out to people, form connections and offer support. It will come back to you tenfold. It can be as simple as a smile, making the effort to have a decent conversation with an acquaintance or putting yourself out a little bit for some else’s happiness.

I’ve learnt that giving someone your time is the most precious gift you can offer, and I am so grateful to everyone, from the total strangers who have taken the time to comment on and encourage my blog, to the friends and family I speak with on a daily basis.

To finish 2016 with a bang, I’ve put together a little party-ready outfit to help you dance your troubles away. Sequins? Check. Choker? Check. Killer skirt, a little bit of leather and party-ready accessories? Check, check, check.

Wishing you all a very Happy New Year!

Heidi xx

This top is just glorious- it reminds me so much of Kate Middleton’s Jenny Packham gown that she wore to the ARK Gala Dinner in June 2011. I’m in love! Also, I adore your blog. I think we are super alike! x
