I really have a thing for lemon print on fabric. It’s cute, fresh and generally reminds me of photos I have seen of Italy. Lemons seem to go hand-in-hand with beautifully tiled walls and the postcard-perfect rainbow towns that run along the Amalfi Coast.
I actually haven’t seen lemon printed fabric anywhere for AGES, so I was thrilled when I walked past the window of Australian pyjama go-to Peter Alexander and saw that they currently have an Italian-inspired range called “Under The Tuscan Sun” that features everything lemon print, blue gingham and Positano.
I immediately fell in love with this little bralette and bloomer set, the only problem was that I wanted to wear them as normal clothes rather than pyjamas.
I decided I was going to throw caution to the wind and wear the damn top anyway. The bloomers are a no-go. From the front they look like the cutest high-waisted shorts you’ve ever seen, from the back it looks like I’ve had a large accident due to the bagginess in the butt. But the top was perfect and it would make a great summer outfit with a mid-length skirt and wide-brimmed hat.

My next hurdle was that I have a massive thing about my tummy. It’s mostly due to the large dark scar that sits right on my bra line/upper abdominals, courtesy of a steamer that I dropped on myself (yes I’m actually special enough that I dropped it on my naked stomach) whilst in New York in April last year.
In the end, I guess my love of the lemon print won out. Pyjamas for day-wear… who would have thought?

I have my eye on quite a bit of this collection myself, I especially love the gingham print nightie which I think looks like a day dress, not pyjamas, but I don’t think I would have the courage to try and pull it as daywear like you have done here!
