Do you ever feel lost for words? When I sat down to write this blog post, it being our 2nd featuring PANDORA‘s new friendship bracelets, I really didn’t know where to begin. I decided to ask some of my ballet students about their thoughts on friendship for some inspiration. Their responses were so darling, so sincere and so simple that I thought I’d leave you with their cute-as-hell answers, because they really say it all.
What is friendship?
Friendship is a connection that you have with a person that is very strong.
Friendship is what you have when someone plays with you and sticks up for you.
~ Katie, 8
Friendship is knowing that you can trust someone and having their support in all the choices you make.
How do you let your friends know what they mean to you?
I tell them they are my best friends and then I say, “Do you want to play with me?”
We talk to each other and tell our secrets and be very polite.
I tell them lots of jokes.
What makes a good friend?
If your friends fall over you say, “Are you ok? Do you need to go to the teacher?”
Someone who gives you lots of hugs.
A good listener.
If someone is nice to you, then you can be nice back and that makes a good friendship.
What is your favourite thing to do with your friends?
I haven’t had a sleepover yet but I’d love to have a sleepover with my friends and play with them a lot.
We kind of use our imaginations and we like to play games. But in class we’re very silent.
We like to play with dragon snot at Kindy. It’s yucky so we like to touch it all the time.
Who’s your best friend and why?
Jolie is my best friend. She’s my best friend because we always hang out together and I’ve been rock climbing with her before.
Casey because when I first met him he just came up to me and helped me with school and he’s really nice to me.
What is the nicest thing a friend has ever done for you?
One of them has done my homework for me before.
When I have a day off school my friends all tell me they wish I was at school playing with them.
My friend was brave and stood up for me when I was getting bullied.
My new friends said kind words to me when I moved schools.
Sometimes my friends share their lunch with me.
My friends say sorry when they hurt me and cuddle each other when they hurt each other.
A while ago some kids were calling me “Chucky” and my friend got really angry at them and made them stop.
Megan got me a pencil case because I’m a nice friend.
Sometimes if I’ve done something wrong, they take the blame so I don’t get in trouble.
Fiona and Kaitlyn helped me find a pencil.
Thank god for friends.
