There are a lot of trends that hold court in my wardrobe, but I have to admit to being partial to white lace. I love the delicacy it brings to any garment, and more often than not it also lends a by-gone era vibe.
When I was younger, I was asked to model in a bridal fashion parade showcasing a dress from every year since 1900. I suppose I was asked as a 13-year-old because I was small enough to fit in to the dresses.
You can imagine how avant garde some of the gowns were! My favourite were those from before 1950. They were the so conservative and elegant, with little to no embellishment, but made out of the most exquisite laces.

When I saw this dress, it reminded me of that fashion parade. I bought it as something special to wear on Christmas Day, because a dress like this deserves a special occasion, and because it made me feel pretty, confident, and like I could kick my heels off and twirl around in it.
