So you probably read the title of this blog post and thought, “what is that?” You wouldn’t be alone, but Millennial Pink is actually all around you, and some are even calling it the colour that defines our generation.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again- I’ve never been a Little Black Dress (LBD) kind of gal. I like colour, sparkle and embellishment, and they always seemed like the boring option to me.
It’s as though the universe is working on a timer. The 1st of December rolls around, and suddenly it’s High Summer. It’s as though a switch is thrown, and people shift their attitudes and their lifestyles. The swimmers come out, it becomes socially acceptable to subsist off acai bowls, ice cream and smoothies, and everyone heads for a location where you can maximise the weather opportunities.
Can you remember the last time someone bought you flowers and how it made you feel? I bet a lot of women can remember the first time they ever received them. For me, there is nothing that says love, appreciation, congratulations, romance, condolences or thoughtfulness like flowers.
Who else has trouble relaxing at home in the clothes that they go out in? It can’t only be me. Jeans are too stiff, if I’ve ironed it to go out in then I’m definitely not comfortable flopping on the couch or cooking a meal in it, sometimes the waist is too tight, or the buttons annoy me… What does it boils down to? Unless I’m wearing pyjamas, sweat pants or a t-shirt that definitely belongs in the rag pile, I don’t feel 100% comfortable.
Fun fact about me: I’m a ballet teacher. I mostly work with elite girls between 14 and 18, who have left school to study ballet full-time in the hopes of having a career in an international company. I also teach younger children after school and on the weekend… so it adds up to quite a few hours in the studio.
I should really be padding out my winter wardrobe at this time of year. In a few weeks I’ll be in Sydney (which is significantly colder than where I live), and I’ll be needing scarves, boots and knitwear.
